Appointments
We know you have many choices when choosing a Dentist in Chesterfield, VA so we have made requesting an appointment a simple process via our Web site. If, for any reason you cannot keep a scheduled appointment, or will be delayed, please call us as soon as possible. Patients are seen in our office by appointment. However, we do realize that emergencies do arise from time to time and we will do our best to accommodate you. If for any reason you cannot keep your appointment we do require 24 hours notice prior to your appointment time. Our office policy is to charge a fee for any missed appointment. We reserve the right to charge you a minimum of $25.00 per 1/2 hour or a maximum of $50.00 per 1/2 hour, for any broken appointments unless we have the required 24 hours notice. Our rate will be determined by the length of time allotted for your appointment time. Please remember that appointments are made specifically for you and no one else. When you miss an appointment you may have prevented someone else in need of dental care from being treated. Please help us to serve you better by keeping your scheduled appointments, or rescheduling them in the requested time frame so that someone else may have the opportunity to have your appointment. If you decide to "NO SHOW" twice for any reason, we will ask that you call on a day you can come in and if we have a time slot available we will fit you in. You will not be given another advance time slot. This will apply to all members of your family that are patients here in our practice.
Insurance and Billing
As a courtesy to you we are happy to file your insurance claims for you. Please be aware that your insurance policy is an agreement between you and your insurance carrier and is not a guarantee of payment. Insurance plans rarely cover 100% of all procedures. It is the patients responsibility to know what your individual insurance carrier covers. Not all procedures are covered. Your insurance company may send you notification at some point in time, stating that the dental fees are " higher than usual and customary or UCR." An insurance company surveys a geographic area, calculates an average fee, takes 80% of that fee and then considers it customary. Often included in this survey there will be discounted dental clincs and managed care facilities, which will bring the average fee down. The fee-for-service doctor in private practices will have fees that most insurance companies will define as higher than "usual and customary." Many insurance companies will state that services will be covered between 80-100%, but will fail to tell you that this applies, after fee schedule allowances, annual maximums, and/or limitations. With this in mind, please remember that you are ultimately responsible for the charges you incur whether your insurance company pays or not. We will be happy to provide you with an estimate of your payment portion, which is required to be taken care at the time of your visit.
