James O. Glaser D.D.S.

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Jim Glaser.
I am a native of Richmond, Va., and graduated Thomas Jefferson High School in Richmond. After enrolling at the University of Virginia, I found myself in a wonderful and unique situation. I was fortunate enough to participate in Varsity Soccer and Track for the entire 4 years. I was surrounded by academic achievers who encouraged my educational growth to the point that I made the Dean's List and was awarded All-ACC academic honors.
From there, I attended the Medical College Of Virginia School of Dentistry. Upon receiving my DDS, I enlisted in the Army and served at Fort Knox, Kentucky. The post was home to one of the Army's General Dentistry programs. It was great experience and exposure for me to work with all of the specialists and other wonderful practitioners. At the end of my tour, I returned to the Richmond area to open my private practice.
Since 1977, our practice has invested time and effort in the community. We are still engaged with the Chesterfield Social Services and Donated Dental Services of Virginia. Continuing education remains of major importance to me. I am on the Advisory Board of the James River Study Club, and participate in numerous C.E. activities throughout the year. It is my goal to stay abreast of the most current treatment modalities and provide them to our patients in a kind and caring environment. I am a member of the American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, Richmond Dental Society, and the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation (DOCS). I provide outreach programs for local daycare centers, also.
I am blessed with my wonderful wife, Brenda, and my kids, Michael, Alex, Olyvia, Chris, and their families. They have all been supportive of my efforts in the community and at home. My hobbies currently involve anything with my children, gardening, computers, and until my knees finally went, tennis.

Sheila Redman – Office Manager
I have worked with Dr. Glaser for 29 years. My husband of 35 years, Donnie, and I live in Chesterfield County. We have 26 year-old twins, Aaron and Laura. I also am “Nana” to two wonderful grandsons, Nathan and Conner. When I am not working, I love spending time with family and traveling. Working for Dr. Glaser has been truly remarkable. I have had the opportunity to meet and serve some of the most wonderful people in our community. Our patients are like family, and we try to treat each and every one as such. We have carefully selected the right staff members, who share our beliefs for excellent patient care. It will be my pleasure to help you with any concerns or questions you may have regarding our practice and its policies. Cheryl Dreis – Insurance Coordinator
Starting as his chairside dental assistant 6 months after he opened his practice, I have worked with Dr. Glaser for 30 years.  For the past 21 years  I have been in the position of Insurance Coordinator.  I reside in Chester, VA, with my husband, Dave, whom I have been married to for 31 years. My daughter, Ellen, is 26 years old, married and lives in Seattle, WA.   My son, Andrew, is 20 years old and lives in Chester, VA..  Since I have been employed for so long, it is obvious I enjoy my job, my co-workers, and the patients for whom we care.  I believe we have a unique practice, one that is friendly, caring and harmonious. As we all know, insurance is a challenging area and I am here to help you.

 
Tammy Beavers – Receptionist/Appointment Secretary
With 20 years of dental experience,  I worked as a dental assistant for 15 years, and in the past 5 years I have enjoyed working at the front desk. Being in both areas of a dental office has given me the experience I need to perform my job thoroughly. I will be happy to assist you by providing you with appointment times that work with your busy schedules. I am the mother of two small children and a wife who enjoys spending time with my family, reading and horseback riding.

I look forward to answering any questions you may have in regards to billing, dental procedures, or even helping you to get rid of those “dental phobias”,  for I too, have been a dental patient.

JerShawnda Stovall – Registered Dental Hygienist  
She as been working full time with our practice since 2006.  Shawnda, as she fondly likes to be called, graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Dental Hygiene in May of 2004 from Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia. She has always been community inclined to give the best dental treatment and health assessment to her patients and others that are in need. Shawnda has participated in several different Missions of Mercy (MOM) projects. She is, also, President/CEO of Briten Ur Smyl(BUS) dental program, a nonprofit dental education organization for inner city school aged children. Shawnda enjoys exercising, shopping, and going to the movies. God has blessed Shawnda with a very supportive and loving family. She goes home everyday to her beautiful Yorkshire terrier, Lela. Shawnda will be glad to help you with all of your  preventative dental needs.  You will find this remarkable young lady as skilled, gentle, and compassionate a dental professional as you could ever want!


Jackie Fritz – Registered Dental Hygienist
Jackie has been with our practice since 1997. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education and an Associate of Science degree in Dental Hygiene. She has practiced dental hygiene for nearly 20 years. Jackie has worked not only in Virginia, but North Carolina and Germany as well. We are lucky that she has decide to care for our patients, who always note what a treat it is to be with her !

Carolyn Curtindale – Certified Dental Assistant
Carolyn performs in our office as a Certified Dental Assistant, helping Dr. Glaser with his dental procedures. She has recently relocated here from Salisbury, N.C. with her husband and daughter. As a most valuable member of our staff, Carolyn uses her 13 years of assisting experience to make our patients comfortable and confident.
